Hi all,
Happy Snowpocalypse! With Plainville schools being closed tomorrow, and the world coming to the end, we wont have practice tomorrow. May you all have sufficient quantities of milk and bread. (Because the stores are out)

Last week, as we worked on Cowboys, there were many spots of 8th and 16ths or 16th and 8ths that should sound like a run of just 16ths. Some of the parts are not divided so it is sometimes hard to tell if it should be all 16ths. Below is a list of the spots that should be played as all 16ths if you are able.

Here is a list of errors in the parts for INCANTATION AND DANCE. Some of them are just left off articulations, but some are wrong notes, etc. Take a look and see if any of these pertain to your music.

Below are a list of errors in the parts for THE COWBOYS and ON A HYMNSONG OF PHILIP BLISS. Look through and mark your parts accordingly.

The Cowboys

Errata

B-flat Clarinet 2 and 3, meas 17–19: The rhythmic figure in meas. 17 & 18 must be moved one measure later. To accomplish this, delete meas. 19 (whole note A); then insert one measure with whole note (D) as meas. 17 (copy from meas. 16) [This will match the orchestra arrangement.]
E-flat Alto Clarinet, meas. 56, beat 3: add a quarter rest (or change the last quarter rest to a half rest) / E-flat Alto Clarinet, meas. 63: add 4/4 meter signature
Bassoon 1, 2, meas. 220, beat 4: change eighth note to a quarter note; delete the quarter rest
E-flat Alto Saxophone 1, 2, meas 17–19: The rhythmic figure in meas. 17 & 18 must be moved one measure later. Mallet Percussion, meas. 204, beat 1: D should read C
Score, meas. 250-256, 2 & 3 B-flat Trumpet: The voices are misidentified in the score at meas. 250: Trumpet 3 plays the harmony with the Trumpet 1 while Trumpet 2 plays the rhythmic divisi passage.

Part Correction – for Clarinet 2 & 3, Alto Sax 1 & 2 and Tenor Sax

In “Cowboys” there is a mistake in the parts in Measures 17-19.

Measures 17 and 18 should be played as written in measures 18 & 19. In the now vacated measure 17, play another whole note like you did in measure 16.

So now:

Measure 16 = Measure 16 (a whole note)

Measure 17 = whole note continued

Measure 18 = dotted half tied to 8th and two 16ths

Measure 19 = a bunch of 16ths

Measure 20 = Measure 20
