Christopher Dresko began his teaching career at Rockville High School in Vernon, CT, where he taught instrumental music from 2002-2006, after which he left to pursue his conducting degree full time. He holds a Master's Degree in Wind Conducting from Ithaca College, as well as a Music Education degree from the University of Connecticut. Chris is currently in his fourth year as the Director of Music at Xavier High School, in Middletown, CT. In this position, Chris conducts the Concert Band and teaches music theory, understanding music, and the first string ensemble at the school. He is also in his third year as the Choir Director at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in New Britain, CT. Chris has done extensive work with marching bands, and this past fall he wrote the field shows for Maloney High School in Meriden, CT and Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, CT; he serves as the Assistant Director for the Lyman Hall High School Marching Band. Chris has found the Plainville Wind Ensemble to be full of musicians with tremendous talent and commitment to their art. He is truly grateful for the opportunity to lead such a fine group, and he looks forward to many exciting and fulfilling concerts in the future!!
